Statement
My bizarre love for melting wax started at a young age. I would draw with my crayons on the protective fireplace screen in my childhood home. The heat from the flames would make the colors swirl together, unite, and then finally melt away. It was so fascinating to me then. Now it is even more intriguing. Today my utilization of wax has transformed into a language of color and texture. Applied to a surface, fused by my flame, and carved by tools, I coax and prod the wax until it emerges into a vivid statement. Consciously employing both traditional and experimental techniques in a contemporary fashion I hope to transfer an emotion to you…through wax.
